Postal Operator Jobs, Benefits, and Promotion. The most important post of the postal department is the postal operator, postal operator post is called the life of the postal department. Postal Operator is a full government and 100% revenue sector post in National Pay Scale 2015 Grade 15 (9700-23450) Rs. There are all benefits including post-service pension, gratuity, one-time lump-sum grant, LLO, General Provident Fund (GPF), and welfare fund. Permanent after 3 years after successful completion of Preliminary and Advanced Training from Postal Training Centre.

Posting and type of work:
An employee of the post of Postal Operator is posted in Divisional Office, General Post Office(GPO), A Grade District Head Post Office(HO), B Grade District Head Post Office(HO), Upazila Post Office(UPO), Sub Post Office(SO) in any office. Posting will be given. You can work in the office along with taking care of your family by posting in your area. Transferred from one office to another office after completion of 3 years tenure. Office hours are from 9 am to 4 pm. 1:15 pm to 2:00 pm prayer and meal break.

Type of work if posting in District Head Post Office:

Each Grade District Head Post Office has 15 to 85 employees, and B Grade District Head Post Office has 5 to 25 postal operators. Each employee works in a different branch. A postal operator post can be posted in any of the following branches The branch in which the posting is to be done. In small offices, two or three branches are given responsibility at the same time.

1. Registration Branch: The work of this branch is to sit at the counter to issue and register the letters of ordinary customers through the POS machine with barcodes, make lists and prepare them for sending to the postal vehicles, sort the letters after receiving them from the postal vehicles and give them to the sub-post office and postman for delivery.

2. GEP and EMS Branch The work of this branch is almost similar.

3. Parcel & VP Branch: After receiving the parcel, VPP, or examination book packet from the customer or examination center principal or his representative issue it and send it to the destination or education board by post. Bangladesh JSC, SSC, HSC, Honors, Master’s, and all public examination books are received through the postal department and sent to the education board.

4. Money Order and EMTS Branches: All types of money order issuance and electronic money transfer of customers. The money orders coming in the postal car have to be paid to the postman for delivery.

5. Savings Bank Branch: To open a new account online of Savings Bank general account, term account, deposit money, calculate profit, send money to the customer and send it to the sub-office. Millions of rupees are transacted in savings bank branches every day.

 

6. Savings Card Branch: All operations including the issue of customer savings card online, payment of profit, cancellation, and transfer. Lakhs of rupees are transacted daily in savings bank branches

7. Sub Account Branch: There are many upazila post offices, sub-post offices, and branch post offices under a main post office, the work of this branch is to keep the income and expenditure account of these offices and to receive and send the mail of those offices.

 

Promotion:
There are opportunities for promotion from the post of postal operator to various important posts.

  • 2. Inspector of Postal Operators (IPO) Superintendent Assistant Postmaster General (APMG)
  • 3. Postal Operator PO Accountant Junior Accountant Senior Accountant Accounts Officer.
