Application Guidelines 2023-24

 

Government and Private Nursing Admission Eligibility:

1. The candidate must be a permanent citizen of Bangladesh.
2. Applicant must have passed HSC/Equivalent in 2021, 2022 or 2023 and SSC/Equivalent in 2019, 2020 or 2021.
3. For admission to Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery courses, 10% of the seats are reserved for male candidates in government institutions. In the case of private institutes, a maximum of 20% of male candidates can be admitted for specific seats. Only female candidates will be eligible to apply for the Diploma in Midwifery course

4. (a) 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc in Nursing Course): aggregate GPA of 7.00 in both SSC and HSC or equivalent examinations in the Science Department, but GPA not less than 3.00 in any examination and HSC or equivalent Must have a GPA of 3.00 in Biology at the exam.

(b) 3 years Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery: SSC and HSC or equivalent in any department with aggregate GPA of 6.00. However, a GPA less than 2.50 will not be acceptable in any examination.

5. 6. For B.Sc and Diploma Courses, the written examination will be held in MCQ format of one hour of 100 (one hundred) marks in separate question papers.

Subject-wise Marking Format of Written Test:

  • (a) B.Sc in Nursing: Bengali-20, English-20, Mathematics-10, Science-30 (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) and General Knowledge-20.
  • (b) Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery: Bengali-20, English-20, General Mathematics-10, General Science-25 and General Knowledge-25.

7. Candidates will be selected based on GPA obtained in SSC and HSC or equivalent examination and marks obtained in the written examination of the candidate.

  • 5 times the GPA obtained in SSC or equivalent examination = 25 marks;
  • 5 times the GPA obtained in HSC or equivalent examination = 25 marks;
  • MCQ Method Written Test = 100 Marks, Total = (25+25+100) = 150 Marks.

8. Candidates securing 40 (forty) or above marks in the written examination will be considered as passed. Candidates will be selected based on national merit. In the case of admission to government institutions, the merit order of the candidate in the selection test and the order of preference given by the candidate will be determined in which institution the candidate will be admitted. In case of admission to private institutes, the Governing Body/Managing Committee will approve the admission from among the candidates who have passed the admission test in order of merit.

9. Admission Test Fee: Tk 700/- (Seven Hundred) for B.Sc in Nursing Course, Tk 500/- (Five Hundred) for Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery courses to be submitted as application fee through Teletalk prepaid mobile. The application will be finally accepted only after the online fee is submitted.

10. Apply online:

  • Last date for submission of application fee: 03 April 2024 (Wednesday, 11.59 PM)
  • Admit Card Download Start Date: 25 April 2024 (Thursday, 10.00 AM onwards
  • Admission Test Date & Time: 03 May 2024 (Friday, 10.00 am-11.00 am)

11. 2% of the total seats in each course will be reserved for children and children of freedom fighters and 1% of the total seats for minorities in every government and private nursing college/institute. The remaining 97% of seats will be selected on the national merit quota. However, if there is a vacancy in the freedom fighter quota or minority ethnic group quota, students can be admitted based on merit from the general quota.

12. In other matters related to admission, the provisions of ‘B.Sc in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, and Diploma in Midwifery Course Admission Policy, 2024’ will be followed. The decision of the admission committee on matters not mentioned in the policy will be considered final.

13. If the information provided by the selected candidates is found to be incomplete, false, or incorrect, their admission will be canceled.
