Bangladesh Railways is inviting applications from genuine Bangladeshi citizens in the prescribed schedule to fill up the following permanent vacancies in the revenue category of Bangladesh Railways. Applicants must have at least 2 (two) years of working experience as Gatekeeper/Gateman in Bangladesh Railway projects. The tenure should be uninterrupted by due process of appointment. The application form should be accompanied by an experience certificate and proper proof which should be attested by General Manager (East/West), Bangladesh Railway otherwise the application will be considered rejected.

In the case of general candidates, the maximum age limit for entering the service is 30 years. Children of veer freedom fighters/ martyred veer freedom fighters and in case of physical disabilities should be a maximum of 32 years as per government rules. However, age is relaxable for applicants with at least 2 (two) years of service/work experience as a Gatekeeper/Gateman in Railway projects. The affidavit is not admissible for proof of age. The conditions of Clause ‘A’ shall apply to all applications.

Candidates have to apply manually in the prescribed application form. The application form can be downloaded from the Bangladesh Railway website (www.railway.gov.bd). Candidates should tick the appropriate box while filling out the application form subject to fulfilling all the conditions. Where applicable the candidate shall submit the original copy of No Objection Clearance issued by the appointing authority at the time of oral examination. The existing rules and quota system of the government in the matter of recruitment and any subsequent amendments in the related rules shall be followed.

At the time of application, one set of attested copies of all certificates should be submitted by the candidate. Besides, a certificate issued by the Chairman of Union Parishad/Municipality Mayor/Ward Councilor of City Corporation as proof of permanent residence of the district, an attested copy of a national identity card and attested photocopy of freedom fighter certificate on behalf of the proof if the applicant is a freedom fighter or son/daughter of a freedom fighter. And the original copy of the certificate issued by the Chairman of the concerned Union Parishad/Ward Council of the City Corporation/Mayor of the Municipality in respect of the son/daughter of the freedom fighter and the son/daughter of the son/daughter should be submitted. Attested copies of certificates/certificates issued by appropriate authorities in support of quota claim other than female quota.

Candidates who have passed the written test have to present one set of original copies of all the certificates attached to the application form to the oral test board while taking the oral test. Certificate signed by the Controlling Officer and countersigned by the Head of Department if the candidate is a pet of a Railway employee [children and widow of a serving or retired (living or dead) employee who has completed at least 20 (twenty) years of service in the permanent post of Bangladesh Railway shall be considered as a pet] must be submitted. Application along with examination fee of Tk 100/- (One Hundred) can be deposited in favor of the Director General, Bangladesh Railway in ‘A Challan’ mode at any branch of any Scheduled Bank. The original copy of the invoice should be attached to the application form. No application will be considered valid without an original copy of the invoice. During the examination, the examination center must follow the health rules and participate in the examination.

Application form manually filled by the applicant between 14/05/2023 to 31/05/2023 to the Registry by post or by hand (Benu Ranjan Sarkar, Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer (Telecom) and Convener Divisional Selection Committee, Room No-601, Bangladesh Railway, Rail Bhavan, Dhaka or Md. Moinul Islam, Deputy Chief Planning Officer and Member Secretary, Divisional Selection Committee, Room No. 304, Bangladesh Railway, Rail Bhavan, Dhaka). No application will be accepted after the specified date. While sending the application form, the name of the post and the name of the candidate’s district should be written on the top left side of the envelope. All information regarding the recruitment will be published on the website of the Railways. It has the approval of the appropriate authorities.
